Ranch Camp
Since 1944, this is the camp where Tucson’s youth have spent their summers. Many of our campers this summer have parents who went to camp here when they were young. Our historic facilities are rustic and full of character, but activity rooms are air-conditioned and fully modernized. Our facilities include horseback riding stables, private trails for horses and bicycles, large grass fields for sports and games, tennis and basketball courts, swimming pool, ropes course, cafeteria, below-ground Kiva room, Art Hut and more.
Our property is a 150-acre gem at the base of the Santa Catalina Mountains, just south of the Sabino Canyon Recreation Area. The riparian corridor of Sabino Creek runs right through our property, so we’re lucky enough to share our camp with some of the most abundant local wildlife in the area. Campers regularly see deer, javelina, rabbits, lizards, snakes and other desert critters. Because our property is so huge there is no need for field trips.
Fenster Ranch Summer Camp is located on the campus of The Fenster School of Southern Arizona on Ocotillo Drive (on the east side of Sabino Canyon Rd. between Sunrise and Snyder Rd.) just ½-mile south of the Sabino Canyon Recreation Area. After driving east on Ocotillo Drive from Sabino Canyon Road, you’ll cross over four speed bumps, then turn left into the school property. Please drive slowly as there are always kids at play!
